The Maui Friends of the Library could not operate its used bookstores without our volunteers’ generous donation of their time.

Volunteers are needed at all of our bookstore locations, and the warehouse.

Volunteer to Help MFOL

Apply now to volunteer! Volunteers are needed at all three bookstore locations.

Maui Friends of the Library volunteers Vikashni , Jeanne, and Cynthia show off the bright new book carts for Moloka‘i Library, which help make their job of shelving & re-shelving books a bit easier and cheerier each day!

These carts – as well as other pieces of equipment and supplies – are funded for the libraries through the efforts of Maui Friends of the Library ... and your purchases in our stores.

Please download, complete, and bring the the attached application when applying at any of our locations.

Aside from helping the libraries, MFOL wants to make books accessible and affordable to everyone on Maui. Our three stores can always use more volunteers, so if you have three or four hours a week available, please stop in and sign up for a shift. Just a few hours each week can help make a big difference in our Maui Nui community!

Help is needed sorting and shelving books, assisting patrons, and operating the cash register. Most needed are volunteers who can work a morning, afternoon, or evening (Kahului) shift one day a week on an ongoing basis.

One major perk of volunteering is getting first crack at the newly donated books!

The MFOL seeks the following items in good condition:

The MFOL cannot use moldy or water damaged books, VHS tapes, or encyclopedia sets.
